There are more than 1 billion Hindus worldwide. Hinduism is the oldest and the third-largest religion in the world. But to understand Hinduism, you need to understand religion.

Religion is basically the belief in and devotion of an inhuman, powerful control. The word “religion comes from the Middle Eastern word “religioun”. According to the website religioustolerance.org, religion is  "Human recognition of superhuman controlling power and especially of a personal God entitled to obedience".

Religion is  important because it explains things of the world we do not always understand, and it gives us something to rely upon. Religion is also a dividing force, however. Some people believe that only their religion is right and should be the only one. This can lead to conflicts, like war, or terrorist attacks. This is why everyone should have enough tolerance of other religions, because every religion is the right, but not only, one.
